Our People

Citiana Belaynah

“Althougth I have not fully decided on my future career path, I know that I’ll have many options to make an impact. Whether I work as a healthcare investor, nurse, founder of my own company, or all of the above at some point, I know that I’ll have the ability to serve others and give back to my community.”

Dual Degrees

Each career in nursing follows a different path—and a nursing education can be just as varied. For students who envision a unique nursing role for their future, Penn Nursing offers a range of dual degrees at the undergraduate level, designed to maximize a Penn education and give graduates an individualized foundation for success.

What to expect

How we teach

We put intense focus on community involvement and cultural awareness. Our highly kinetic curriculum, featuring a state-of-the-art simulation lab, team-based clinical practice, and an extensive mentorship program is structured to prepare you for a range of patient care settings. We also encourage you to expand your experiences through student-driven initiatives, study abroad programs, and faculty-advised internships.

Learn more, faster

While all of our students have access to everything the University has to offer, like clubs, college living, and athletics, if you are motivated, we also have a variety of options that can enrich and expedite your undergraduate experience. For example, in your junior year, you could begin taking courses that count toward both your undergraduate degree and one of our 11 master’s programs or toward a degree from Penn Law School or Perelman School of Medicine (PSOM); this process is called submatriculation.

Additionally, we have dual degree programs, such as Nursing and Healthcare Management, through a partnership with Wharton. And, unlike many other nursing programs, you’ll have the opportunity to specialize by pursuing a minor in one of our programs or at another Penn school, or even pursue a major in Nutrition, an interdisciplinary collaboration between Penn Nursing and Penn’s School of Arts & Sciences.

A strong foundation for a vibrant future

Penn Nursing provides an incomparable professional foundation for a career in nursing and nursing research, and we do it on the strength of Penn’s world-class liberal arts curriculum. Graduates of our program hold positions across an array of healthcare settings as well as in pharmaceutical companies, law firms, accounting firms, government agencies, and beyond, shaping the future of nursing through policy, research, and hands-on care. We prepare nurses to rise to the top of their fields; the kind of nurses that lead with knowledge, compassion, and expertise.
