Overview:
Faculty Innovation Rounds are designed to support and inspire faculty at Penn Nursing in incorporating innovation methodology and frameworks into their academic work. These rounds will provide one-on-one or small group sessions to explore opportunities for integrating design thinking, human-centered design and equity-centered design approaches, into existing or future research projects, academic courses and Penn Nursing programs.
Innovation Rounds Structure:
- Audience: Individual faculty members or small departmental groups.
- Format: 30–45 minute informal sessions, scheduled as needed by faculty.
- Mode: Meet with Marion Leary, PhD, MPH, RN, Director of Innovation, in-person or virtual based on faculty preference. Sign up using the button below.

Supporting Research Grant Development:
- How innovation methods can shape problem framing, end-user engagement, and impact interventions.
- Strategies for incorporating co-design or participatory methods into grant proposals.

- Integrating active learning, DT activities, or design sprints into curricula.
- Embedding innovation competencies (empathy, creativity, collaboration, equity-centered) into syllabi.

- Introduction to frameworks such as human-centered design, equity-centered design, double diamond and thinking.
