Current Program of Study

Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Early on as a Penn Nursing undergraduate student, Breanne Mastromarino became certain that she never wanted to leave Penn and all it encompassed. After working in medical-surgical and critical care environments, she is thrilled to return as a part-time graduate student in the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP program. Though she commutes from hours away, Penn is still her home. This is truly the place of “the brightest and the best,” and she feels it is a privilege to continue to learn and grow here.

What is something that you really like about your program of study?

I love how flexible and accommodating it is toward students of different paths. We have options to go part-time or full-time and do clinical rotations in a variety of areas especially if they are closer to home. I also love how much emphasis there is on clinical practice and case studies even in didactic courses. Our professors schedule guest lecturers who are experts in their fields to engage us in dynamic learning experiences.

What's your favorite thing about your cohort and/or the community at Penn?

The students in my program share clinical anecdotes from a variety of work backgrounds which helps us learn from one another.

If you previously earned a degree from Penn, please provide your alumni affiliation(s).
